Music - Savona, Liguria, Italy
A long time has passed since 1992, when the Savona Association for chamber music, then the Symphonic Orchestra of Savona, wanted to fill a lack of music in the city, which boasts a flagship such as the Chiabrera Theater. He immediately took over the direction of the Massimo De Bernart Orchestra. In 2002 Carlo Maria Giulini became honorary president making it the only orchestra in the world to have had this privilege. From 2006 to 2013 its permanent conductor was Filippo Maria Bressan, one of the few Italian conductors specialized in the eighteenth-century repertoire performed with the practice of the time, called to conduct top-level orchestras, both in Italy and abroad, making him one of the most prestigious sticks on the national scene. The orchestra's activity ranges from symphonic to opera, to chamber music, especially in the version with only strings. There are also numerous performances conducted in the modern rhythmic-symphonic formation. His recording activity boasts the creation of world premieres recorded titles. Since 2017 the Music Academy of Savona Ferrato-Cilea has been merged with the Orchestra, an increasingly high-level cultural, production and musical training center. The Academy boasts a close collaboration with the Vivaldi Conservatory of Alessandria. The Voxonus Festival, focused on the Baroque, was born from the experience of the prestigious Voxonus 'Academy of musicians and singers', recognized as the only stable symphonic, opera and choral reality in Italy dedicated to the eighteenth and nineteenth century repertoire and performed with original instruments of the time. In 2022 the review celebrates its 11th edition and inaugurates the Research Center on the Italian Quartet.
