The Oregon Lakes Association was formed as a nonprofit organization in 1991. OLA members are anglers, boaters, scientists, business people, lakefront homeowners, and others who share a common concern - the health and continued enjoyment of our lakes and reservoirs. Through OLA, individuals and organizations with diverse interests join together to speak with one voice for better management and protection of a unique heritage that we all cherish - clean lakes for all Oregonians to enjoy. As a chapter of the North American Lake Management Society (NALMS), OLA is part of a growing international network of individuals and organizations with an interest in lakes and their management. •Monitor and assess the condition and use of Oregon lakes •Provide a means for education and dissemination of information related to lake and •watershed ecosystem management •Foster communication and working relations among lake associations, local, state and national governmental agencies, organizations, universities, consultants, and individuals concerned with lake and watershed protection, restoration and management •To encourage, assist, and support the development of local, state and national programs promoting lake and watershed protection, restoration and management •To encourage the development of legislation and the enforcement of laws designed to protect lakes and watersheds •To promote and foster the formation of local lake associations and encourage all interested organizations and individuals to become actively involved in the Association
