Media Partner: Fast Company.2011THE CONSTRUCTOR'S DESIGN CHALLENGETwenty-one competitors and six student teams participated in the Constructor's Design Challenge bike design competition. Our judging panel included: Rob Forbes / Founder, Public Bikes and DWR; Tinker Hatfield / VP of Innovation, Nike; Bill Strickland / Editor, Bicycling Magazine; Joe Breeze / Founder, Breezer Bikes; Ron Sutphin / President, United Bicycle Institute. Also featured were three Creative Collaborations between global design firms and bespoke bike craftsman. Led by IDEO, Fuseproject and Ziba Design, these collaborations produced threeroad-tested prototypes displaying a level of design thinking never before directed at an urban utility bike.Media partnerships included design supersite core77.com, Treehugger.com and Bicycling Magazine. Media coverage included the Wall St. Journal, Fast Company, Wired, Azure, Cool Hunting, CNET among others.
