Oriel Group was founded by Helpmann Award and Sydney Theatre Award winning actor and writer Elise McCann. For stage Elise was writer and co-creator in association with Luckiest Productions on Everybody Loves Lucy; lead producer of the Australian revival and national tour of I Am My Own Wife; development producer of original new work Carmen, Live or Dead; and creator, co-writer and producer of the world premiere concert/cabaret Dahlesque which she sold to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Auckland Philarmonia and licenced as an album to ABC Music.For screen Elise has worked as a producer, dramaturge and creative content developer, script editor and writers researcher both locally and Internationally across both fiction and non fiction inspired content. Elise spent 2019 working under a producer placement at Sarah Jessica Parker's all female production company Pretty Matches Productions. During May/June 2020 Elise conceived and produced the music collaboration series PLAY IT ON, presented as an online charity concert with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in support of Australian artists who had lost their income as a result of the nationwide shutdown of the live entertainment industry. It featuring David Campbell, Casey Donovan, Graeham Goble, Kate Miller-Heidke, Tim Minchin, Katie Noonan, Eddie Perfect and Hayden Tee. In 2021 Elise was lead producer on the Screen Australia funded online 6x10 comedy mockumentary series The Power of the Dream for Chips and Gravy Films. Elise is currently working in development across two feature films for Award winning and Emmy Nominated producer Dan Wigutow and Emmy Nominated Director Roger Spottiswoode; as well as in development on a new series Very Average Girl with Lisa Campbell and Chips and Gravy Films. She recently received funding from Seaview Productions for second stage development of her own series, Beginners.
