The Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra (Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa - OFP) was founded in May 2016 by Osvaldo Ferreira and Augusto Trindade, bringing together a group of musicians of exceptional technical and artistic merit. Our musical corp consists of award-winning artists of both national and international competitions, former members of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), various other international youth orchestras, as well as foreign musicians residing in Portugal who have collaborated with this project to create an orchestra that has established itself as a reference and symbol of quality throughout Portugal.The orchestra performs symphonic and operatic concerts and aspires to create connections with other artistic genres in a constant search to develop cultural events and creative performances.The inaugural concert of the OFP occurred on the 7th of May, 2016 at Europarque, having previously performed at the Arade Cultural Center, Algarve and the Cistermúsica Festival de Alcobaça under its previous guise, the Euro-Atlantic Orchestra. The reaction of the public, critics and musicians from all over the world was unanimous, choosing this project as one of the most important in recent years in our country, for its quality and originality.The OFP is a national project directed by Maestro Osvaldo Ferreira, currently one of Portugal's most recognised and prolific conductors.
