Optics Students Karlsruhe - OSKar - is a part of worldwide network of student chapters of The Optical Society (OSA) and of SPIE which are both associations that aim to enhance cooperation between scientists, engineers, educators and business leaders working in the field of optics and photonics.We are a group of students from different cultural backgrounds united by the common interest in the advancement and spread of knowledge in the fields of optics and photonics.We enable our members to work together in projects such as showcasing optics with hands-on experiments, industry R&D excursions and having guest lectures in optics and photonics; We benefit our members with scholarships and travel grants, workshops, counselling in integrating to the German lifestyle and improving their network within and outside our studies with many social events.
