In 2001 we set up Othisi High School in Stamata, Attica. We created a new type of School, namely the interactive, creative, efficient School. Reflecting the founders' objectives, the size of the School allows for the provision of individualized services to each student. Every student's academic course is planned so that that they can be suitably placed in instructional programs which enable them to develop their skills. Placing emphasis on self-motivation, we allow scope for students to dream, experiment and create. The environment which we create promotes tolerance towards diversity. Finally, the arts provide a springboard, which enables all members of the school community to establish some common ground for self-expression. The fact that classes consist of 15-20 students and Foreign Language classes consist of 4-10 students per level, offers our groups the potential to meet each student's needs. During the last two years of Senior High School, overall responsibility for our students' preparation for the National University Entrance Exams lies with us. Students of the 2nd and 3rd Grade of Senior High School are placed in 8-member groups for their noon and afternoon lessons in order to prepare for the subjects examined in the National University Exams. Additionally, one-to-one lessons are offered, in case it is deemed necessary, depending on each student's needs. Having sufficiently developed their skills and being equipped with the required levels of knowledge, our students are able to pursue graduate studies in Greek Universities or English-speaking Universities abroad. Seeking to meet the needs of the New School, Othisi High School offers its students a European perspective in order to equip them with the necessary skills and thus ease their integration into any cross-cultural context. The essence of our educational proposal is that our students' skills development should be promoted on an individual basis.
