Today, OTIUM is synonymous as the perfect blend of an active lifestyle with luxury fashion, however, the vision for opulence began years ago.A dedication to perfection and strong interests in art, business and sport fuelled Jacob Clyburn's creativity with the brand. Mr Clyburn began his interest in fashion by watching tennis as a child, analysing the outfits of his favourite players, and often sketching his own iterations in his unique style. Mr Clyburn studied in his hometown in North East England and started his first online business at twelve. He later started a design company at fifteen, specialising in logos, graphics and websites, where he taught himself the fundamentals of design and branding. Gaining his first business experiences at an early age gained him an insight into successful management, which led to him to pursue business full time after leaving college. At 16, the idea for OTIUM was born when Clyburn had an idea for his own, modern line of sportswear for himself and other tennis players. An opportunity arose for Clyburn to develop his first collection for a local school team, and OTIUM Vorago Red was born. After the success of his first collection, Mr Clyburn took an interest in fashion, particularly focusing on the opulence of luxury brands. Inspired by the elegance of high fashion and the valour of sport, Mr Clyburn went on to create the first OTIUM Luxus designs for his personal tennis wardrobe.However, the OTIUM vision spanned much farther than the tennis court alone. Mr Clyburn went on to craft the ATTIVO collection to continue a sophisticated look through an active lifestyle, ATTIVO took pret-a-porter into the twenty-first century's lascivious way of life.
