The OUR SYSTEM Institute (OSI) is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation for study of and change to our system so that we may all live without harm. OSI offers information, advice and consultation on justice, economics, organisation, and society using a whole-system perspective.In the delivery of our advice, we take a whole system perspective, first observing the system, and then thinking how to improve it with the help of its inhabitants. We take a 'no-bullshit' line to our consulting: we do not parade Master Blackbelts in Lean Six Sigma, impose benchmarks and ISO jargon, or use models developed for different systems on the system we are addressing. We observe, understand, and then act. And in any organisation with people involved it is the members themselves who are most vital to seeing and making the changes that will improve the system. OSI work often involves research that activates change in participants right from the get go by prompting them to think about their circumstances, and it involves data analysis and visualisation that prompts people to reassess and alter their lives in ways which impact positively upon themselves and their communities.
