Outside the Box at UCLA is a student innovators club whose goal is to foster innovation among students to create the next wave of change makers. THE CONCEPT: Each week, we gather in groups to think about innovative solutions to specific problems affecting society, e.g. traffic jams, air pollution, recycling. At the end, each group presents its ideas to others. During these sessions, we learn about divergent thinking and how to approach a problem from a unique angle, basically how to get "out of the box". We also collaborate with startups and NGOs and help them answer open questions they have about product development. The Outside the Box movement started in Belgium in Sept. 2016 with Outside the Box LLN.Our dream is to become a movement that will spread on every campus throughout the world to have a global impact. Imagine if all over the world, groups of people brainstorm every week, how could they not find an innovative idea with huge impact? :) If you are interested in launching Outside the Box at your university, please feel free to contact us. We will help you in the process.
