The original Overseas RUFC was formed in November 1946. Although rugby had been played before, the Overseas was the first civilian rugby club in Malta and would compete against British forces sides and visiting teams. For 27 years the club was purely a rugby club, becoming a ‘Rugby and Sports Club' in 1973. The club has led the way in the introduction and development of men's, women's as well as and youth rugby. Throughout this time the club has regularly produced international players for both the Maltese men's and women's teams. In recent years the club have been regular winners of the league and cup competitions Each year the club is the first point of call for touring teams, many of whom have had former players or friends at our club. Recent visitors and friends have included clubs such as Rosslyn Park, Hertford College (Oxford University), Norwich and many, many more.The club is open to all, no matter your background, size, shape, experience or form.
