O.W.L. is a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) whose aim is to make biological sciences accessible to anybody, combining biotech and hacker philosophy of free accessiblity to data and resources. The Open Wet Lab is located in Trento, where it was created with the support of the University of Trento and the Science Museum MUSE. The association is open to anybody and the registration fee is 5€. Open Wet Lab is also a place where people can meet, discuss research projects and put them into practice, followed mainly by students of the University of Trento. No project is too crazy, no boss will tell you what to do, complexity is no limit.Also seminars and science comunication practical activities will be organized, to put the public in contact with the world of biotechnologies and to tear down that wall of ambiguity that divides people and research.OWL is more than an association. OWL is a community, a network of ideas.OWL is active on the local territory with active science journalism collaborations with local newspapers Il Dolomiti (http://www.ildolomiti.it/blog/open-wet-lab), Trentino Natura (http://trentinonatura.it/) and L'Adige (http://www.ladige.it/autore/244421-open-wet-lab).We take part with our activities in conferences, in schools and local events, offering themed labs and experiments.
