Nonprofit Organization Management - Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
With the second wave of this unprecedented pandemic smashing through India, BANGALORE has 600,000 ACTIVE Covid-19 infections, the HIGHEST of ANY city in India. * In fact, 1 out of every 29 people in Karnataka state (where Bangalore is the metro city) have Covid-19 according to the New York Times Corona Virus Map and Case Count.**Hospital beds are near impossible to find, search parties and waiting lists overwhelmed. People are dying at home and outside hospitals without any medical resources to give them a fair chance at survival.HOW WE DO ITPartnering with a doctor-led organization, Aarogya Seva, OxygenAid is giving people a chance to BREATHE. We are a lending library of 5-10L oxygen concentrators that: 1. Deliver DIRECTLY to the homes of individuals suffering from Covid-19 and cannot find a hospital bed. Once the resources are no longer needed by the patient, they are instantly sanitised and readied for the next individual.2. Strategically place oxygen concentrators outside hospitals to support those in dire need and waiting for hospital beds and at after-care centers. GOALThe demand for resources is growing exponentially everyday and the OxygenAid team is responding on the ground to the immediate needs of people fighting Covid-19 right NOW. *20 purchased out of goal of 225 concentrators (1 concentrator = $1,000 / Rs 75,000)*200 purchased out of goal of 1,000 oximeter (1 oximeter = $10 / Rs 500)*0 purchased out of goal of 6 oxygen generator plant ($165,000 / Rs1.2 Crores)WHO WE AREWe are a team of Bangaloreans across the world who have come together to solve a problem that we find unacceptable and disheartening. We have woken up to messages and calls every night asking about oxygen concentrators or access to hospital beds because someone's mother/ father/ brother/ sister/ grandparent has dangerously low oxygen saturation.
