Pacific Dissent started as a way for us and our friends to share our personally unseen artwork and unread ideas. It has become a way for other creators and thinkers to do the same. You create. We curate. Which begs the question, can seeing a combination of colors and shapes be monetized? It can, and it is. What is new and hot one day can be rendered valueless overnight because it doesn't make money. The artist is left out to dry as the micro-economy of the art world decides who's next. But art and ideas are important to share regardless of monetary gain. We feature a broad range of artists, writers, and thinkers from around the world who have a tendency in their work to seek truth, and push creative and social boundaries.We relish those who find humor in the banal and terrifying and those who take interest in ideas rather than opinions. The non-fiction written work you read here will honor these principles. Pacific Dissent is not just another art or literary magazine. We are a source of free flowing creative thought.
