Pacific Parklands Foundation (PPF) was founded in January 2000 as a non-profit society and charitable organization with an independent Board of Directors of recognized leaders in the Lower Mainland's business, educational and professional communities. Pacific Parklands Foundation is dedicated to the conservation, preservation and enhancement of Metro Vancouver's regional parks. There are 22 such parks in and around the Lower Mainland, covering more than 10,000 square hectares. In 2009, almost 9 million visitors experienced the natural beauty of British Columbia through the parks system. This volume and the demand on the parks increase every year. While ongoing maintenance and day to day operations of the parks are publicly funded, Pacific Parklands Foundation actively raises funds to expand and improve the parks in ways that go beyond the basic necessities. Working together with government, businesses, community leaders, other non-profit organizations and groups, and individuals, Pacific Parklands Foundation is the Foundation for the Future of Our Parks. Our mission is to encourage philanthropy and volunteerism, enrich communities and protect valuable green space in Metro Vancouver regional parks. Canadian Charitable Number: 889353017RR0001
