In 2000, the husband and wife team of Mark and Deborah Matthews pooled their collective skills to open their own construction company, creating Pacificmark Construction. Mark's hands-on building skills as a craftsman and years in the construction field blended nicely with Deborah's healthcare and management experience. They began their business focusing on residential remodels and some light commercial projects, building a reputation for personal service, quality of performance and attention to detail. Once they concentrated their work to the commercial market exclusively, they soon were winning public contracts performing challenging interior renovations on city and county buildings as well as the Port of Portland and Tri-Met projects.
