Packages for Preemies is a 501(c) organization that provides goods, financial support and services to families who have infants born prior to 37 weeks and spend more than 3 days in the NICU. One in 8 babies are born prematurely worldwide and the numbers are increasing. Premature infants often have to stay in the hospital for weeks, sometimes months, well after mom has been discharged from the hospital and often times, well after vacation or paid family leave has run out and families must return to work. Often times, parents may not get to even hold their little ones for weeks after they are born. Our goal is to help provide financial and logistical support so that families can spend the needed time to bond with their babies and focus on the health and well being of these little miracles. We are still a new and growing non profit so our resources are limited. However we have big plans to grow and expand over the coming years with the support of nationwide communities!Our packages are based on the resources available at the time, but generally include, preemie clothes, preemie diapers, preemie socks, hand knitted booties or hats, and gift cards to local coffee shops, restaurants, gas cards or general cash cards to help alleviate the added costs of extended hospital stays.
