PaCT Lab is based at Northumbria University and is one of the few HCI (Human Computer Interaction) research and training facilities within a psychology departmentOur aim is to develop interdisciplinary research, education and training to improve communication technologies and understand the consequences of their use. We strive for a dynamic community in which academia, industry and government can guide and challenge each other. While our researchers are predominately psychologists, we ensure our research utilises a broad, multidisciplinary approach through our many collaborations. Our work covers four broad and overlapping themes of privacy, security, trust, and behaviour change. These themes are explored across a variety of domains including health, commerce, energy conservation, learning and social media.
