PAD 5 was primarily established following feedback from various construction organisations that working airside at civil airports was fraught with problems.There appears to be a consistent issue of the construction supplier and airport operations staff "not speaking the same language", which is the result of two very different disciplines having to co-exist while a project is delivered in an often challenging operational environment.PAD 5 can effectively 'manage out' such difficulties by understanding the high level requirements of both parties and being able to offer alternative methodologies/solutions which minimise/mitigate operational issues and consequently enable project execution with on time/on budget delivery.
