Pages & Places is an all volunteer, 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of books, reading, writing, and publishing.Pages & Places' core event is the Pages & Places Book Festival, scheduled annually on the first Saturday of October. The festival is downtown Scranton's celebration of books and they city, uniquely combining panel discussions featuring nationally and internationally recognized authors, journalists and industry experts (the "Pages") in some of Scranton's most architecturally interesting venues (the "Places"). The festival revolves around the panel discussions and the co-occurring Book Expo on Courthouse Square, boasting book sales from commercial and independent presses, live author readings, writing and publishing workshops, and an interactive Kids Fest.Throughout the year, Pages & Places hosts seasonal staged book readings and other literary events in the spirit of contributing to the region's literary arts and culture scene.
