Pain Revolution is the brainchild of Professor Lorimer Moseley from the University of South Australia. Lorimer is one of the world's most respected pain scientists. He's also a self confessed "middle aged man in Lycra", which has proven to be a great vehicle for bringing the message of evidence-based interventions for persisting pain to rural communities suffering under the burden of pain.Lorimer was joined on the innaugural 2017 ride by some of Australia's most respected pain scientists, physicians, physiotherapists and GPs. They took to the saddle and cycled over 880kms between Melbourne and Adelaide, conducting educational outreach activities en route. The riders were also accompanied by the Brain Bus, which is an interactive science lab on wheels that allows the public to experience some of the fascinating science of pain and perception. The biggest aim of the ride is to fundraise and grow awareness for a Local Pain Educator Network in rural and regional areas. The riders raise money via sponsorship, and we've got a fantastic group of sponsors on board. Our big goal is to train and support local Expert Pain Coaches to Explain Pain within their communities. They will learn how to teach evidence-based self-management strategies, and work collaboratively local clinicians within an evidence-based prevention and rehabilitation approach. We're working to create a framework for community based pain education that we can share with other communities, to combat the global burden of persisting pain.

Pain Revolution: Revolutionizing Pain Management in Rural Communities Pain Revolution is a groundbreaking initiative that aims to transform the way pain is managed in rural communities. Founded by Professor Lorimer Moseley, a renowned pain scientist from the University of South Australia, this organization is dedicated to providing evidence-based interventions for persisting pain. The inaugural ride in 2017 saw Lorimer and a team of respected pain scientists, physicians, physiotherapists, and GPs cycle over 880kms from Melbourne to Adelaide, conducting educational outreach activities en route. The ride was accompanied by the Brain Bus, an interactive science lab on wheels that allowed the public to experience some of the fascinating science of pain and perception. The riders raised money via sponsorship, with a goal to train and support local Expert Pain Coaches to Explain Pain within their communities. These coaches will learn how to teach evidence-based self-management strategies and work collaboratively with local clinicians within an evidence-based prevention and rehabilitation approach. Pain Revolution's ultimate aim is to create a framework for community-based pain education that can be shared with other communities, combating the global burden of persisting pain. With the support of a fantastic group of sponsors, Pain Revolution is revolutionizing pain management in rural communities, empowering individuals to take control of their pain and improve their quality of life.
Professor Lorimer Moseley, a well-known pain scientist, started Pain Revolution to help people in rural areas who suffer from chronic pain. He and other experts went on a bike ride from Melbourne to Adelaide to raise money and awareness for this cause. They also had a mobile science lab, called the Brain Bus, which allowed people to learn about pain and perception. The goal is to train people in rural areas to teach others how to manage chronic pain using proven methods and to work with local doctors to prevent and rehabilitate pain. They want to create a plan that can be used by other communities to address the global issue of chronic pain.
