The Paisley design as we know it has been given its Western name after a particular Scottish town, but its journey there can be traced back to importing via the East India Company and further back to its birth in Persian culture as the "Boteh" or "Buta". Paisley Design, the creative vision of seasoned Production and Merchandising professional Bhavna Jain, aims to make a similar signature statement in the kaleidoscopic world of fashion. Bhavna started the company in October 2005. 18 years of senior management experience with children's clothing line Dewdrops, UK sourcing company ; and Dutch retail and design outfit Colveta India, forms the backbone of the business. Her multifaceted skills-set includes: • Creative detailing and design interpretation; • Thorough knowledge of fabrics; • Excellent supply base relationships for clothing, fabrics, accessories and home products; coupled with: • Long standing business relationships with cross-cultural and international clients • Managing personnel at all levels • Managing factory relationships and gleaning the best capacities of the Indian supply base Although Bhavna is currently responsible for all functions of Paisley Design, dedicated teams are put together to provide the necessary support, based on individual client requirements. Across the 10 years devoted to strengthening the company's presence, Bhavna has worked with an array of international businesses and retailers, continuously evolving in response to current and pre-empted fashion trends.
