Pakistan's First Biomass Cluster launched with an aim to assimilate industries including OEMs, SMEs, policy makers, financial agencies, academia, research institutes & farmers on a single platform for the mass adoption of Biomass Energy Technologies.Funded by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Global Environmental Facility (GEF), Pakistan's First Biomass Cluster originates from U.S.-Pakistan Center of Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E) of NUST based in Islamabad.Biomass Cluster is focused on promoting market-based adoption of modern biomass energy conversion technologies for power generation in SMEs and rural areas in Pakistan; by addressing several barriers related to policy and regulatory framework, capacity and lack of confidence in the technical feasibility and commercial viability of biomass-based technologies.
