The start-up ecosystem in Pakistan is fragmented with different pieces of the puzzle working in isolation. There is no central database of start-ups in the country. There is no central resource hub that people considering entrepreneurship can access to increase their chances of success, their ability to keep costs in control during launch phase, grow their business in a competitive environment and so on. Similarly, for investors both inside and outside Pakistan, the arena remains opaque and it is difficult to access the best investment opportunities.The idea:PakTekHub is a Hub for the Start-Up Ecosystem in Pakistan. This means that we bring together start-ups with their multiple needs, investors with their criteria, mentors & advisers in different spheres and create a marketplace for the various players to interact and build businesses together. In this effort, PTH can help bring some order to the chaotic and often-counterproductive struggles of different parts of the eco-system, introducing best practices, professional approaches, and access to capital for those parts of the ecosystem in most need1. Founders will be vetted, trained, upskilled and prepared to pitch to professional investors both locally and abroad.2. Investors will have access to a standardized level of founder / start-up, that have been through the mill to some extent and are prepared for the rigours of the start-up world.3. Matchmaking between funders & founders.4. Professional advisers in various important fields (legal, financial, marketing, business development etc.) as well as mentors will be available on the platform, with ratings provided by previous users.5. Events (some paid, some open) will be hosted 2-3 times / week on the platform.6. We will actively build collaborations with industry bodies (incubators, accelerators, academia and experts) in order to strengthen linkages across verticals.
