paMELA - Photoacoustic Melanoma Detector aims at developing a cost-effective device to study and detect early-stage melanomas using a more performant and reliable technology than today's dermatoscopic ones. We are supported by the "Bicocca Università del Crowdfunding" initiative, a project of the University of Milano-Bicocca, Produzioni dal Basso, iBicocca, Assolombarda and the Programma Virgilio by Rotary to develop entrepreneurial ideas. Our scientific advisors are from the Microelectronics Group and the Biophysics and Biophotonics Group at the University of Milano-Bicocca and the Proton Sound Detector Group of the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics - Section of Milano-Bicocca.
