College/University - Ann Arbor, MI, US
This program is designed to educate women in the University of Michigan's Panhellenic Council about sexual violence and to create a support system within the Greek community. Members of PPE SVEE become a resource for sisters in their chapter in the unfortunate situation of unwanted sexual contact and are there to help them, support them, decide what their next steps are, and aid them in reporting (if they choose to do so). We also run annual workshops for every new member of each sorority on campus to raise awareness about sexual assault and harassment within Greek life. These workshops are centered on women's empowerment and focus on consent, crisis management, and self-care. Our annual Speak Out is a public forum where we invite survivors of sexual assault from all four councils to share their stories and experiences in a safe and confidential space.
