PAPA PRITO entered the bustling and cut-throat gourmet scene of Tagaytay City in 2011 with the promise of food and ambiance both rich in taste but light on the pocket--not the easiest combination. Since then, it has become Tagaytay's social equalizer, cutting across social classes, and growing a local following--rare in a town where food business relies heavily on tourists and weekenders for survival. In 2017, PAPA PRITO opened its first branch in the bustling business capital of Ilocos Norte, San Nicolas. Combining the famed bulalo (beef shank soup) of Southern Luzon with the classic bagnet (crispy fried pork belly) of Northern Luzon in its menu, PAPA PRITO is bridging the cultural divide between North and South in terms not only of their divergent taste for food (salty vs. spicy) but also of their opposing attitude towards money (save vs. splurge).
