Architecture Firm/Engineering Firm - Lorette, MB, CA
Paper Canoe is an art + stationery company, based out of Lorette, Manitoba (Canada). We own an independent fabric line, create custom illustrations for businesses, as well as run a retail/wholesale division of a nature-inspired, eco-friendly paper line (including greeting cards, note cards, journals, art prints, and more). Our products have been shipped worldwide through our online shops, fabric designs used by many Makers in North America and abroad, and artwork licensed to companies such as Colibri Canada. Several of our designs have placed in the top ten in Spoonflower design competitions, as well as been featured on sites such as Spoonflower, Huffington Post Canada, the Winnipeg Free Press, Made Here for You, and various blogs. Our Wholesale line of artwork and stationery is currently being sold across Canada, from BC to Ontario. All designs are by Canadian Illustrator, Leanne Thiessen, involving a mixture of hand drawn, watercolour and vector elements. Leanne Thiessen is the Illustrator and owner of Paper Canoe. Her passion for art stems from a very young age, a childhood filled with camping, canoeing, loving and respecting the outdoors – where she draws much of her inspiration from. A mother of four children, her illustrations are often created with Littles running around or drawing right beside her. Her illustrations aim to amplify the beauty in things with simplicity, and often have a nostalgic, modern edge. All of our wholesale products are printed locally or in house, and most are composed of Canadian-manufactured 100% PCW recycled paper. With the exception of our Art Prints, our recycled paper is Canadian made, and our FSC printer is local to us, allowing us to support our nation's economy and local businesses while being kind to the environment. We have also eliminated most plastic (woot!), and the remainder being used is PP5 and recyclable in many recycling programs in Canada. Our independent fabric line is printed on demand via Spoonflower.com, who's digital print process uses water-based pigment inks and dyes, with very little waste.
