Hi there! We're Joe & Coleen Akers, a husband & wife creative team, and we started our little design studio PaperFreckles in 2009. Starting from humble beginnings making custom invitations for brides and logos for small businesses we eventually found our real passion using Joe's sarcastic, mid-brow* humor and illustrations and Coleen's eye for detail to create cheeky, humorous greeting cards and fun, stylish stationery. Our inspiration comes from our over-zealous imaginations, generally silly day-to-day banter and sometimes way, way too much coffee. Even when we're not having as much fun with paper as is socially acceptable, we spend time being creative in the kitchen & love to dote on our 350 pounds of furry children – Grace, an Akita, and Jude & Max, our rescue Great Pyrenees. * We totally made that word up.
