We are a full service Eco-friendly garage that is committed to putting people and planet before profit. Since day one we have made it a priority to reduce out business's environmental impact and to operate it in a sustainable manner. We are an EPA Green Power Partner thanks to the solar panels on our roof that power our shop, we use highly efficient air source heat pumps for heating, and we use energy saving LED lighting.We also help our customers to reduce their impact on the environment by offering alternatives to their gas powered car or truck. We sell and service electric bicycles, we offer free loaner bikes courtesy of CEBE, and we offer free electric vehicle charging. For those customers that are stuck with their gas powered car or truck for now, we offer bio-based and recycled alternatives to conventional engine oils and grease, low rolling resistance tires made with non-toxic chemicals and canola oil based rubber compounds, and extended service oil filters that conserve our oil resources by prolonging the useful life of engine oil.The health and well being of our employees is very important to us and this is another reason why we use non-toxic and bio-based products whenever possible. Our shop features a non-toxic parts washer that uses bio-remediation to thoroughly clean sludge and contaminants from parts. Our employees can also benefit from the free use of three electric vehicle chargers and as a result we are part of the Department of Energy's Workplace Charging Challenge. We sometimes take time away from our business to make trips to our State House to ask our representatives to enact Eco-friendly legislation but even when we are busy turning wrenches on our customer's cars we are fighting hard to make meaningful change by supporting organizations such as 1% for the Planet, the Center for an Ecology Based Economy, the Natural Resources Council of Maine, the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, the Sierra Club, and others.
