Hospital & Health Care - Phoenix, Arizona, United States
The Partners That Heal program utilizes improvisation techniques to help alleviate patient and families' fear, discomfort and trauma in hospitals, shelters, and other care institutions via a digital platform in response to COVID-19. Specially trained actors bring live improvisational performances and activities to pediatric and adult patients, many with complex medical diagnoses to hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Incorporating a repertoire of more than 250 interactive therapies, the Partners' creative services are personalized to the interests of the individual, and are approved for delivery within multiple hospital departments, including individual bedsides and isolation. The program reports consistent, significantly improved communication directly following a visit, which makes it easier to take patient vitals, draw blood, administer tests and determine the patient's level of discomfort. Additionally, the program aims to incorporate performances, creativity, culture, dance, music, joy and laughter within a hospital setting to reduce patient anxiety, improve morale and increase patient healthcare compliance.
