Nonprofit Organization Management - Patiala, Punjab, India
Paryavaran Welfare Society was set up in the year 2009, as a scheme to uphold biodiversity, guard "paryavaran" (environment), and save energy resources at local level.Few of our major events include:• Plantation Drives: To increase the green cover we carry out extensive plantation activities all year.• Cycle Rallies: To raise voice against the rising air pollution levels, we conduct cycle rallies to promote the use of bicycles and thus focusing on two issues, lowering air pollution and fitness for all.• Blood donation: Organised annually, the prime focus is to make sure that our blood banks never run out of the same. During dengue breakout we realised there was a shortage of certain blood groups. So to eradicate this measure PWS carries out blood donation camps. This always receives an overwhelming support from our volunteers.• Dustbin Installation: To promote the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and prevent littering in our city, we have installed dustbins. These dustbins are cleaned on a regular basis.• Nest Installation: We install artificial nests on tree branches. We even install eating trays and drinking bowls for birds.• Painting Activities: Painting alongside dividers, poles and graffiti to promote awareness is the most recent measure the students of the university have taken up.• Pollution camps: We organise pollution checkup camps to regulate the pollution levels caused by diesel vehicles.• Car Bin: To prevent littering on roads, our society developed car bins that can be easily be put in the cars.• Free Distribution: We distribute free jute bags, CFL bulbs, cycles, to the needy for more use of Eco-friendly materials to cut down on pollution. To participate or any other queries that you may have, please feel free to reach us at: paryavaran.ws@gmail.comAlso visit our Facebook page for more info: https://www.facebook.com/ParyavaranWelfareSociety/
