Pat The Baker was founded in 1953 in Granard, Co Longford. Since then the bakery has been continuously expanded to meet growing demand. This has included utilizing new technologies to allow for increased production capacity and higher standards of quality and freshness. The freshness is reflected in our slogan So Fresh, It's Famous which is now part of the corporate logo and is readily identifiable with the company. In 1984 the company opened its first depot, in Dublin, to cater for its growing market. This was later followed by depots in other parts of the country. In 1996 the company moved into new purpose built offices in Moxham Street, Granard, Co Longford, which now serves as a modern corporate headquarters. While we were expanding, we created more and more jobs around the country. Starting with 40 employees in 1980, today we provide employment for over 400 people, through direct employment and self-employed agents. From our early beginnings of the bakery and distribution centre in Granard, the business grew with further distribution centres being opened countrywide throughout the decades. For sixteen years Pat The Baker has been voted Ireland's Best Bread by the Master Bakers Of Ireland. We truly are Ireland's Best Bread. The slogan "So fresh it's famous" is now part of our corporate logo and has become synonymous with Pat The Baker among our customers at home and with the Irish diaspora abroad. You can even buy our bread in downtown New York! Our slogan reflects our philosophy – as we always use the very best ingredients, processes and management techniques to provide our customers with the highest quality bread product. We truly are Ireland's Best Bread in terms of Quality, Consistency and Reliability.
