Our path is to empower a generation of students to experience and mobilize empathy to people all around them. Today, the majority of young Americans are told being self-centered is the only way to live. We feel teaching students to practice empathy will lead to change in themselves, their homes, schools/community, nation, and our world. Let's face it, we all can struggle with feelings of entitlement, playing the role of the victim, or even bullying to get our way. In schools, most character education curriculum that addresses these issues, teach in reaction to the problem. The Path2Empathy curriculum takes a much more proactive approach on the victim mind-set, entitlement and bullying.Through our experiential lessons we invite our students to walk through another's perspective by providing opportunities to practice respect, gratitude, and empathy. We exchange a self-centered focus with empowerment and a positive self-worth. These classroom lessons will bring students out of their comfort zone both physically and emotionally, and will build global, national, and local awareness to empathic opportunities.On the Path2Emapthy we live out our definition...To walk in another's shoes so to experience how they live, feel, be. And by this we will affect change in ourselves and others.
