Leisure, Travel & Tourism - Pawhuska, Oklahoma, United States
David Grann recently published a novel, "Killers of the Flower Moon". This sparked a national interest in the history of Pawhuska, Oklahoma and the "Osage Reign of Terror" that occurred in the 1920s when the Osage people were murdered in order to steal their oil rights. The Osage people were the wealthiest people per capita in the world during the oil boom. Many of the prominent locations mentioned in the book are still standing. The bus tour offers in-depth knowledge that is not present in the novel. This clearly illustrates the history that made Pawhuska and the Osage people what they are today.
