PEACE (Protection, Education, Animals, Culture, Environment) is a nonprofit organization working in the Bay of Banderas, Mexico and beyond to increase educational and economic opportunities through community development programs in the areas of education, environment, animal health, and economic development. EDUCATION The Community House Program (Casa Comunidad) works with the public school system to provide students with dynamic educational experiences; it also offers educational opportunities to youths and adults not enrolled in formal education. ENVIRONMENT The Community Pride Program (Orgullo en la Comunidad) works hand in hand with town members to identify and complete beautification projects that encourage environmental health over the long term. ANIMAL HEALTH The Help the Animals Program (Ayuda a los Animales) responds to the challenge of Mexico's large population of unwanted and unhealthy pet animals. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT The Know More Microfinance Program (Sé Más Microfinanzas) offers financial education and group loans to support local micro-entrepreneurs.
