The founder of PS&M Ltd is a academic and researcher in physics (university, industry and CRI) with extensive international experience. Founder a 'father' (meat industry R&D description) of meat scanning innovation in the meat processing industry, also judged as having 'vision' (colleagues). A scientist, senior scientist and principal scientist (2005-2010) for DSIR/GNS Science (1980-2010). Lecturing/laboratory part time by invitation at Victoria University, Wellington since SCPS 2011-2015, 3rd year experimental techniques (vacuum/cryogenic) and topics in applied physics (intro. to nuclear energy). Previously a senior lecturer in physics at the University of Cape Town. Supervisor of PhD students at VUW 2008-2013. Objectives of PS&M Ltd include leading edge research, innovation and teaching focusing on encouraging students, asking questions and promoting NZ. The company helps gifted young NZ scientists succeed in NZ rather than being overlooking through for example preferring gifted young scientists from offshore. CRI's and Universities can be more effective in supporting NZ students. An Auckland academic speaker said at the NZAS forum at Rutherford house 2013 there is a need to 'knock down walls between CRI's and the Universities'. A model is the US national labs which operate in partnership with universities e.g. the Los Alamos National Laboratory and the University of California.
