Mission Statement:The Pennsylvania Jazz Collective strives to expose and promote the diversity of jazz through education, outreach and performance encouraging participation in America's unique art form.Education Objective:Through education in the arts, particularly jazz, the Pennsylvania Jazz Collective seeks to instill essential and life-enhancing skills. Some of these skills include discipline, creativity, problem solving, working well with others in a cooperative atmosphere, confidence and intellectual development.PA Jazz focuses on the musical communication that is at the core of jazz. Jazz is an expression of individuality and the spontaneous artistic language spoken within the context of a democratic framework. We are cognizant that jazz performers and students draw upon multiple educational and social disciplines to simultaneously interact in a manner that uniquely ties together many educational disciplines and learning.
