PHDS is non-governmental not-for-profit Georgian-based organization, established in 1996, with a mission to protect and promote human rights. The expertise of the organization covers more than ten years of implementation of anti-trafficking initiatives, including regional ones, aimed at protection and promotion of rights of victims of human trafficking, smuggling and illegal migrants. \As an active watch-dog organization PHDS is known for its support to development of counter-trafficking state policy making, constant monitoring of the state policy and actions and provision of recommendations to improve assistance to victims of human trafficking, smuggling. PHDS established South Caucasus Training Centers for Social Workers and Law Enforcement Officers in 2007 and has so far maintained and developed these regional training units with a view to expand their activities to a wider international coverage.
