The PPT, a descendant of the 1966 Bertrand Russell / Jean-Paul Sartre Vietnam War Crimes Tribunal, is an internationally recognized public opinion tribunal that functions independently of state authorities, national politics and vested interests. \\People around the world have been forced to live in areas with fracking that has negatively affected the air they breathe and they water they drink. They are living in jurisdictions which have undercut their ability to make decisions regarding the best interests of their communities. They are living without self-determination for themselves, and their families; and we believe they deserve a voice.\\Two sessions have been scheduled for October of 2017 in the U.K. and U.S. to address if sufficient evidence exists to indict the U.S. and U.K. on charges of failing to adequately respect the human rights of their citizens as a result of permitting fracking within their jurisdictions.\\\The Tribunal will ask whether fracking should be accepted as 'the new normal'. It will also encourage people to not expect less of their governments, but instead to hold their governments to the moral and legal standards they have publicly espoused.\\The PPT will provide an international platform for those impacted to have their cases heard, prosecuted and judged by human rights experts. We aim to raise awareness around the world and provide a megaphone, in the form of a legal and moral inquiry, to address claims that the rights of both present and future generations are being violated and to ensure that those claims are taken seriously.
