Personalized Learning Squared (PL²) is a joint initiative between the LearnLab at Carnegie Mellon University, the Center for Urban Education at the University of Pittsburgh and Remake Learning. PL² combines culturally responsive human mentoring with artificial intelligence and data driven technology to create truly personalized learning. Our vision is to bridge the gap in learning opportunities caused by social, cultural and economical differences and to increase associated learning gains by a factor of two. We are currently piloting with middle school students, focusing on numeracy skills and are partnered with educational institutions in the Greater Pittsburgh Region as well as national education technology providers.
