Perth Institute of Business and Technology* (PIBT) is located in Perth, Western Australia. PIBT is accredited by Government under the Higher Education Act 2004 to provide a range of higher education programs. All programs are accredited by the appropriate vocational education and higher education government agencies to ensure that programs meet quality assurance standards. As part of the accreditation process, programs are regularly reviewed and revised so that students at PIBT are guaranteed current and relevant programs.PIBT provides alternative pathways to Edith Cowan University for students who may not qualify for direct entry into a degree program and are looking for a supportive learning environment. PIBT is located on the Joondalup Campus of ECU and offers pathways through pre-university and university (Diploma) programs in Business, Hotel Management, Communications and Creative Industries, Science (Computing / IT), Science (Engineering Studies) and Science (Health Studies). PIBT's diploma programs are equivalent to the first year of the respective bachelor degree at ECU. Following successful completion of the diploma program students are eligible for entry into the second year of the respective bachelor degree at ECU. A trimester system allows students to fast-track their studies and complete most programs in eight months. PIBT's supportive learning environment ensures students are well prepared to enter university with confidence. PIBT also offers the Post-Graduate Qualifying Program (PQP) which is a non-award program designed to lead students into ECU's master's degrees in the School of Business and Law. The program is designed for students who already have tertiary qualifications but have not qualified for direct entry into the university masters degrees.*From 1st October 2016, Perth Institute of Business and Technology (PIBT) changed its trading name to Edith Cowan College (ECC).
