petruccimarco.itMarco Petrucci, born in 1982, holds an University Degree in Industrial Design at the University "La Sapienza" in Rome; and a 1st Degree Master from the Polytechnic University of Milan, in "Design and Technologies of Lighting". Right after his first degree, he then understood that Lighting Design is was his vocation. When in Florence, he developed his university thesis at Targetti - a leading architectural lighting brand developing an innovative modular lighting system. Shortly after, during the Master in Milano he was introduced to a true master of traditional italian lighting design, the architect Piero Castiglioni, a global renowned firm. From then on, a trusted and priceless collaboration endured for the following ten years. The first project which featured him as a global lighting design Project Manager, was the Milan Portello urban district renovation, a 250.000 sqm intervention. During this crucial experience, he works with some professionals of the international scene, Gino Valle, Cino Zucchi, Guido Canali, Charles Jencks and Andreas Kipar.Combining this experience in a large-scale urban interventions, there is an unique, overlapping portfolio of lighting design of prominent cultural heritage global sites - one of UNESCO as Imperiar Forum of Rome. All of the following interventions required a multidisciplinary approach and an unique method and sensitivity to the whole design approach. We look into design of the appliance and the spreading of the light throughout space. Vocation, experimental research and curiosity are always at their limits and the screening of the world around us is steady and fair. Tradition and culture are exploited and they also live within projects; the approach is the same: put an object into context giving it a new life and function according to its needs.
