I set up PFS Limited as I could see that the majority of homeowners were paying high interest rates. We went from strength to strength and in 2003 opened a wholesale insurance company called Protection Direct Limited. PFS had offices dotted nationwide including Manchester, Bournemouth, Bristol and Swindon. When The Financial Authority regulated our industry in 2004 PFS changed its business model and concentrated on clients that had an adverse credit history. In 2005 I could see that the something was going to happen to the marketplace as the Americans were lending inappropriately and I could see that the bubble would have to burst, but I didn't know when. With this in mind I scaled the operation down. I now work from a log cabin in my garden which reduced the company's overheads significantly.
