Pharmacy Addressing Loneliness and Social-isolation (PALS) is the first international network of individuals and organisations (large and small) across the pharmacy industry that are passionate about addressing loneliness and social isolation to further improve the health outcomes of their patients and the wider community. This global network comprises of individuals and organisations across the pharmacy landscape. This includes pharmacists, pharmacy retail managers, pharmacy assistants, training and education teams, academics, researchers, policy and advocacy representatives, digital health care teams, pharmaceutical companies and entrepreneurs. The intention of this network is to connect passionate members to share knowledge and learn from existing loneliness and social isolation interventions (for example, social prescribing). This network also offers members the opportunity to share ideas, collaborate and co-create innovative solutions.The Global Network of PALS is ultimately striving to develop a road map for the pharmacy sector to address loneliness and social isolation. The road map will cover awareness and education for both pharmacy health professionals and the consumer, and it will explore funding models to enable appropriate remuneration for loneliness and social isolation screenings, pilots, interventions and innovations in the pharmacy sector.
