Philadelphia Commission for Women (PCW) works with organizations and social service agencies to advance gender equality and promote public discussions on issues that impact women and girls.Topics for public discussion have included:Wage equityWork/life balanceHuman traffickingImmigrationViolence against womenSexual harassmentEducationUsing data, we work with the Mayor's Office and the Office of Public Engagement to make policy recommendations that promote social justice, equal rights, and economic opportunities.Established in May 2015 by a vote to amend the Home Rule Charter, the commission has 27 members. Ten of these are chosen by the Mayor, and members of City Council each select one additional member.
