The Philipp family, and with it our architectural office Philipp Architekten, is firmly rooted in the craft. For over 300 years, members of the family have been practising the craft of carpentry without interruption. This tradition shapes us. Despite all our aspirations, architecture has therefore never detached itself from the craft. On the contrary: only in the harmonious combination of design and execution do we see the demands we make on ourselves fulfilled.Beauty is our passion. We love to design places, buildings, spaces that are first and foremost given the predicate "beautiful". Beauty is the heart of our vocation. Beauty carries a life-affirming power. Beautiful places, beautiful buildings or a beautiful interior touch people in their innermost being; they create an atmosphere that inspires people, offers them space to develop and shapes them positively. It is our conviction that we can only succeed in creating sustainably beautiful places if we broaden our view, live up to our holistic responsibility and succeed in creating a harmonious triad of people, nature and architecture. The uniqueness of architecture is revealed to us by looking at its Greek root. Architecture is made up of the words "arché" - beginning, origin, first and "techné" - art, craft; and this is precisely where its meaning and the challenge of all design lies for us. It is art and craft at the same time. It is original and contains a creative act. It combines aesthetics and design with craftsmanship and construction.
