Gwent Domestic Abuse Services (GDAS) is a registered charity established in 2002 to provide a free and confidential information and support service to those affected by domestic abuse within the borough of Blaenau Gwent. The service operates an open door policy to both males and females aged 16 years plus affected by domestic abuse. The service is based in Phoenix House, Blaina and operates Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and currently has seven paid staff members. The service receives referrals from a variety of sources including statutory and voluntary agencies as well as direct self referrals and takes a multi-agency approach to tackling the issues of domestic abuse.
