PhoRad ® Verifier instruments provide an additional layer of radiology-radiation safety and effectiveness. There are critical and distinct problems within diagnostic imaging- radiology and excessive exposure to ionizing radiation that PhoRad Verifier products address: 1) The risk of a patient's accidental exposure to excessive cancer-causing radiation (for example, during CT scans, x-ray); 2) The risk of patient misdiagnosis due to the diagnostic imaging viewing environment being out of calibration (for example, not detecting small, potentially aggressive tumors during routine, periodic breast x-ray exams), and 3) Measurement and management of individuals exposure (cumulative) to ionizing radiation (is known to cause DNA mutations) that lead to cancer.
