Photography - Pilani, Rajasthan, India
The Photography Club at BITS Pilani is one of the oldest clubs on campus. It goes back to the days of black and white photography, when cameras had parts made of canvas and when club sessions were devoted to developing photographs in a dark room. Having witnessed a couple of periods of idleness, followed by impressive growth, the club has come a long way. Photog, in its present avatar, was reborn in the year 2006-2007 under the able guidance of some of our seniors.AchievementsOne of the greatest works of the club has been the panograph of the BITS Clock Tower. Composed of over thirty snaps taken at different angles, it is a breathtaking image of the institute in the light of the rising sun. This picture occupies centre stage of the institute's website and has become synonymous with the name of BITS.This year Photog took it to a whole new level by making a huge 9 ft X 25 ft Photo- Mosaic . Impressed by the work the college authorities have put it up for permanent display on the SAC Wall (Student Activities Club). The mosaic has been made by including passport size pictures of Bitsians. Thousands of photographs to make one big picture.Stay alive.. and clicking!
